This is not an ‘amen’ to Theron, this is a there is a time and a place to speak and you wielding your misunderstanding around to make a point before you even let Davis finish her thoughts is a ‘please sit down and stop being so willfully disrespectful under the guise of being complimentary.’ This is clearly a white woman attempting to silence a black woman about her experiences and clearly not understanding the experiences of black women in Hollywood. Instead of interrupting she could’ve took notes and listened, could have figured out how to be an ally, could have thought about how to interrogate the structure instead of Davis… but no, she responds to her as if Davis is ignorant about the treatment of Black folk in Hollywood, as if she’s insecure and naive … clearly look how many cyber-high fives Theron got????
